mod_pagespeed Module for Faster Page Load on VPS Servers

The mod_pagespeed module is designed to optimize website performance, improve page load times, and reduce resource consumption. This performance‑enhancing module is currently available exclusively to VPS and Dedicated server customers.

Cloudflare and mod_pagespeed Compatibility

Servers using mod_pagespeed optimization may encounter issues with domains running Cloudflare. These conflicts often stem from both Cloudflare and mod_pagespeed applying compression simultaneously. To resolve this redundancy, disabling Cloudflare compression typically restores normal functionality.

Installation Requirements for mod_pagespeed

Only binary RPM packages—available in both 32‑bit and 64‑bit versions—are currently provided for installation. The module has several dependencies, and to maximize performance, mod_deflate should be compiled through WHM using EasyApache. Additional entries will also need to be added to your Apache configuration file.

Because proper configuration requires time and technical setup, a $35.00 installation fee applies for VPS and Dedicated server customers requesting this module.

EasyApache Version Support Notice

Please note that newer versions of cPanel (EasyApache 4.x and above) do not support mod_pagespeed. As a result, HostGator cannot downgrade EasyApache 4 to EasyApache 3 to enable module compatibility.
